Remote Support is a service offered by the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD). It allows people to communicate with their providers in real time, even when their provider is not in their home. This service uses two-way communication, similar to Skype or FaceTime. Remote Support can help people live more independently in their homes and communities. This service also can include sensors to assist in calling for help if a person has fallen, and cameras that can show who is at the door. Medicaid waivers cover the cost and maintenance of equipment used for this service.
